
Pro Tools is the granddaddy of workstations digital audio workstation (DAW). You ask a layman to appoint a recording program from the computer and you probably will say Pro Tools. It is one of the oldest computer equipment and remains one of the best.

Instructions
First, you must have a sound card with high quality for connecting a microphone cable and guitar. You will also need a versatile MIDI controller to activate the software instruments. Depending on the soundcard and MIDI controller, you’ll need a software driver that is associated with your version of Pro Tools. Be sure to download the latest driver.
In Pro Tools, go to File and select New Track. To use the stereo sound through a microphone, you have to use a stereo microphone. Otherwise, record the same part in two separate in order to mimic the stereo recording tracks.

In Windows menus, select “Show Edit” and “Show Mix” You have two main windows. The track from the first step should appear. You can change the size of the Mix and Edit windows so that they can see both side by side, without having to click back and forth.
To record, press “r” key control over the volume sliders and pan in the mixer window. The “r” has to be red for recording is enabled. Then press the record button all year in the control bar. The controls in the control bar function like a standard CD player.
