Every website requires a unique IP address. Exhaustion of IP addresses became a serious problem in the 1990s until the new methods use available technology to maximize the number of available IP addresses. These methods include route aggregation, a process that generates a specific route and controls how networks make ads available routes.
Route aggregation
Route aggregation tries to organize a network by replacing multiple routes with a single route in general. This process uses a hierarchical categorization gives preference to addresses based on predetermined criteria. Route aggregation limits the number of available routes to service providers. When a service provider receives the IP addresses, assigning these IP addresses it occurs in a contiguous block. The service provider can then divide the IP addresses assigned into smaller blocks and lease them to other Internet service providers.

CIDR
Classless Inter-Domain Routing eliminates the need to use class-based schemes IP addresses. The implementation of this process resulted hierarchical addressing large blocks of IP addresses divided and assigned to Internet servers. The allocation remains subject to Internet records and the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority. These organizations make available blocks to different regional authorities around the world. These regions include America, Europe and Asia, and the regions then allocated blocks of IP addresses within respective geographical regions ISPs.
Organizational networks
Networks of organizations also use route aggregation to make traffic more efficient network. Organizations with geographically dispersed branches require networks that allow remote users and partners to integrate into centralized corporate network. A modular router aggregation helps to facilitate this process by connecting routers with multiple access points to the network. Aggregation routers wide area network also provide greater flexibility, scalability and security.

Advantages
Route aggregation provides stability to networks. In addition, reducing the number of routers minimizes the overhead associated with routing protocols and reduces the number of necessary changes as a result of network changes, such as improvements or degradations. Aggregation also reduces the workload on the system by requiring less power, memory, storage and bandwidth.
